Why we built this
Every year millions of people move to a new city for a college seat or a first job. The search for accommodation usually happens through a phone number scrawled on a wall, a broker who wants a month's rent, or a photograph that turns out to be of a different building entirely. Deposits are paid in cash. Nothing is in writing.
We think the basic facts about a place you are going to live in — what it costs, what is included, what the rules are, and what previous residents thought — should be available before you commit, not discovered afterwards.
So TrueHostel does the unglamorous part: we verify that the person listing a property is entitled to list it, we require owners to state their tariffs and deposits upfront, we maintain a record of what is listed, and we give you a place to escalate when something goes wrong.

Search and compare
Filter by city, locality, budget, occupancy and amenities. Every listing shows the tariff, deposit, house rules and property owner contact details up front.
Connect with property owners
Contact hostel and PG owners directly through their phone numbers or email addresses listed on their property pages. Schedule a visit or call to discuss availability.
Arrange directly with owners
Negotiate rent, deposit, occupancy terms and payment methods directly with the property owner. All arrangements and payments are made between you and the owner.
Move in
Complete all formalities directly with the hostel or PG owner. Confirm house rules, payment schedules, and any other terms before moving in.

Complete pricing transparency
All tariffs, deposits, and house rules are shown on each listing upfront. You pay the property owner directly. TrueHostel charges users nothing.
Your privacy is protected
You share contact details only with the property owners you choose to contact. Your information is never sold or used for advertising.
Honest reviews from real tenants
Only people who actually stayed can review. Owners cannot pay to remove reviews, and we do not publish sponsored ones.

We do not own, operate or manage any of the hostels on the Platform, and we do not set their tariffs or house rules. The contract for your stay is with the hostel owner.
We say this clearly because it decides who is answerable for what. Our responsibilities are the Platform, the listing directory and the grievance process — and we stand behind those.
